Chambliss wins re-election in runoff

Senator Chambliss defeated his challenger Jim Martin in the Senatorial runoff today. With 92% of the precincts reporting, Chambliss had 58% to Martin's 42%, when Martin called to concede.

Technically, this win thwarts the Democratic hopes of a filibuster-proof Super Majority - but there are still RINO Senators that would prove that wrong. For now, though, I'm happy we won this seat and happy that the Georgia voters were compelled to re-elect their Republican incumbent.

This win again proves Palin's effectiveness as an energizer and motivator. Can you believe a former VP candidate is so popular that she can attract thousands of people to rallies for a Senatorial runoff that isn't even in her state? She's so popular that this runoff became a national news item - a runoff that probably would have been a footnote to the other news stories any other day if she hadn't been there. Her effectiveness in this runoff is hopefully a foreshadowing of things to come. Go Sarah!
